The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Product Training, and Technical Support.  The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.



  • KLA is seeking a talented and motivated individual for an internship position, working within the robotic Product Support group.
  • The job function would be to develop data acquisition tooling for wafer handling system, with the outcome to improve troubleshooting capability.
  • Successful candidate will obtain hands on experience with robotic sub-systems while working in Engineering lab.
  • The opportunity to gain visibility by successfully completing the project and performing a demo to senior management.
  • Candidate will get exposure to:  Semiconductor industry, robotics, control systems, software development, and working with cross functional teams.


  •  Knowledge of GUI development (LCD TFT displays
  • Familiarity with and fundamentals of data acquisition
  • Understanding of sensors functions (measurement of temperature, current, voltage, motor speed, pressure, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++
  • Strong knowledge of MCU/DSP/FPGA
  • Preferably project based background involving MCUs (example arduino, teensy, STM)
  • Understanding of control for SISO systems
  • Understanding of closed loop system modeling
  • Ability to create and tune control loops
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Control Systems.
  • Must be self-driven, and a strong team player.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering with strong knowledge in Software, Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum 2 year completion of BS degree.
