Group/Division

KLA has always had a close relationship with data.  Our optical and electron beam inspection and measurement tools use sophisticated data analytic techniques to provide value for our customers.


In this role, you will be part of a world class team of data science researchers, machine learning and application engineers who build and use a world class platform for development of Industrial AI application.


We are looking for engineers with a passion for data science and software engineering who can rapidly incorporate evolving ideas from academia and industry into useful solutions for our internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

Engineers in the Central AI Software team will be working on building and maintaining infrastructure necessary for large scale experimentation and deployment of machine learning based solutions.  Domains in which a successful candidate will be expected to contribute will include data management and data loading, support for machine learning and deep learning model training, experimentation and deployment.

Although familiarity with Machine Learning and Deep Learning solutions would be a big plus, this is primarily a Software Engineering position.  Successful candidates are passionate about software, and will have exceptional skills and hands on experience with development in C/C++ and Python in a Unix environment.  Deep conceptual understanding of multi threaded and multi process software systems is also necessary.

Qualifications

In addition to the above fundamental software skills, any of the following technical hands-on skills are highly desirable.

  • System Programming and Operating Systems.
  • Distributed systems for data management.
  • Distributed computing infrastructure.
  • Cloud technologies for storage, containerization and compute clusters.
  • Data Structures and algorithms
  • MPI and similar distributed computing framework.
  • GPU Architectures and CUDA (CuGraph, CuData, CuML etc).
  • Distribution frameworks like DASK.
  • GO Systems Programming, Java Programming.
  • Traditional machine learning using Random Forest, XG Boost, Logistic Regression.
  • Deep Learning for regression or classification.  Generative models.
  • TensorFlow, NumPy, scikit-learn, and other ML and DL frameworks.

Successful candidates for this position will also demonstrate the following non-technical skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Level DegreeORBachelor's Level Degree with at least 1 years of experience.
