Group/Division

The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Product Training, and Technical Support.  The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

 

Responsibilities

  • KLA is seeking a talented and motivated individual for an internship position, working within the Product Support group.
  • The job function would be to review, modify and develop (as needed), algorithms for Big Data analysis.
  • Successful candidate will obtain on experience with data analysis through all phases from project development to real-life implementation.
  • The opportunity to gain visibility by successfully completing the project, performing a demo and sharing recommended improvements to senior management.
  • Candidate will get exposure to:  Semiconductor industry, software development, and working with cross functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or other engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience with one of the following programming languages required (C, C++, python, r, or java).
  • Proficient in building or prototyping SW models and algorithms and wrangling large data sets.
  • Proficient in SQL, shell scripting and Unix/Linux command-line tools.
  • Preferred experience with SAP database.
  • Strong communication and visualization skills; create powerful visualizations to transform data into easily-consumable, action able insights.
  • Knowledge of and curiosity about latest trends in data industry, including evaluating and testing new tools, techniques and frameworks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Working towards:  Bachelor's Degree with minimum 3 years completion of BS degree.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven coding experience with big data projects.
  • Expert level with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be self-driven, and a strong team player.
