Group/Division

The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Product Training, and Technical Support.  The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Responsibilities

KLA is seeking a talented and motivated individual for an internship position, working on cutting edge technology

Job function:

  • Study high precision electromechanical subsystems such as semiconductor wafer handling robots, stage and associated sub-assemblies
  • Optimize complex multiple degrees of freedom Wafer Stage calibration using Python Scripts
  • Modify existing Python scripts used for stage calibration for cycle time reduction
  • Propose design improvement opportunities for sub components such as vision system, gripper assembly, sensors and actuators
  • Successful candidates will obtain hands-on experience with robotic sub-systems while working in an engineering lab environment
  • The opportunity to gain visibility by successfully completing the project and presenting analysis and recommendations to senior management
  • Candidates will get exposure to: Semiconductor Capital equipment industry, robotics, control systems, software development and design for serviceability while working with cross functional teams in a fast paced environment 

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Python programming is a MUST.
  • Familiarityy  with controllers and high precision motors, encoders preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Relevant experience (project/internships):  feedback loops, control systems, self-driving or automation, motor, and encoders
  • Must be self-driven, eager to learn and a strong team player. 

 

 

  

 

Minimum Qualifications

 
  • Pursuing BS or MS degree in EECS, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical or similar Engineering discipline
  • Python programming is a must have skill
