Our team is the face of KLA-Tencor to the innovation ecosystem – startups, investors, accelerators, universities. Our mission is to drive corporate growth in new markets by attracting external innovation through a network of trusted partners. The Innovation Partners Program is focused on four sectors: 3D printing, bio-imaging, industrial IoT and metrology, and advanced energy storage. We are a multidisciplinary team of HW/SW Engineers, Technologists, Application Engineers, and Business Developers all with an entrepreneurial spirit. We love working with startups and the innovation ecosystem and invite you to join our team.


  • Support development team designing tooling, fixtures and designs for projects in the four focus areas.
  • Complete tolerance analysis, models, detail drawings and work with suppliers to procure parts.
  • Assemble, test and complete summary report.  
  • Troubleshoot issues using data driven techniques
  • Drive design review activities and development of associated engineering documentation
  • Collaboration - In the course of the above duties, interact and work with other groups: marketing; applications, hardware and software engineering; manufacturing and field support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed BSME and working towards masters
  • Exposure to 3D printing, bio-imaging, industrial IoT, and/or advanced energy storage.
  • Experience with Solid Works and ProE drawing software
  • Hands on assembly experience / comfortable working in lab environment
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and manage time
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ability to learn technical applications and processes quickly
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in progress, completed 3rd year.
