The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) is the world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced optical inspection tools for inline monitoring of process defects in advanced semiconductor factories.


  • Responsible for high power broadband DUV testing of optical components and subsystem. Design optical test benches and optical subsystems using sequential and non-sequential optical design programs.
  • Initiate experiments to understand coating and substrate material damage mechanism. Analyze experimental data to project component lifetime.
  • Maintain damage test benches and make necessary changes when needed. 
  • Work with engineers from other discipline to collect and analyze component and subsystem data for improving inspection equipment performance and trouble shooting.
  • Maintain metrology equipment and develop new measurement capability as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Requires a M.S./Ph.D. in physical science with emphasize in optical characterization and analysis of materials and thin film coating. 
  • Need hands-on experimental skills to setup optical testing bench and experience in operating complicated optical instruments to succeed in this position.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis programs such as LabView and Matlab is highly desired.
  • Experience in DUV optics and optical design is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate (Academic) OR
  • Master's Level Degree with at least 2 years of experience OR
  • Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 3 years of experience
